IN round two this afternoon I lost to a senior (1391/121), and this evening in round three I drew with a junior (1662/164).
Both were interesting games, and I am looking forward to annotating them, but I am much too tired to do that now (and anyway I have to annotate round-one first).
This afternoon's game featured my opponent moving the same piece on six consecutive moves while the game was still in the opening.
I am wondering if that could be a record, but have been unable to find anything relevant on the internet.
I begin this blog after getting back into league chess following many years' absence due to work. My post-job status also means I am able to play more tournament chess. My new club in London is Battersea and my first game for them is on Thursday September 14, 2017. I start with a Fide rating of 1858, an ECF grade of 169 (=1968 elo) and an ICCF correspondence rating of 2267. My current Fide is 1954, my ECF is 1940 and my ICCF is 2331.
Not quite the same thing but my team mate Tim Kett managed 12 consecutive knight moves (and 14 out of 15) vs Keith Arkell a few years ago.

and was only slightly worse but did lose in the end.
Thanks Pete. Not quite the same things, as you say, but certainly remarkable (although I make it 13 consecutive knight moves, and thus 13 out of the first 15 moves)
