I begin this blog after getting back into league chess following many years' absence due to work. My post-job status also means I am able to play more tournament chess. My new club in London is Battersea and my first game for them is on Thursday September 14, 2017. I start with a Fide rating of 1858, an ECF grade of 169 (=1968 elo) and an ICCF correspondence rating of 2267.
My current Fide is 1908, my ECF is 1944 and my ICCF is 2369.

Summing Up Bad Bertrich
MY score of +5=1-3 in the 31st Bad Bertrich Chess Days, for players born before 1976, gained 40.6 Fide elo, and won me the U2000 second rating prize of 160 euros.
Probably my best tournament for about three years. I felt during the games I was understanding more - but still lots of mistakes and suboptimal choices. Two of my biggest sins are a lack of a sense of danger, and playing too quickly - both possibly due to overconfidence.
Congrats! A very good tournament.also some high level games.

DeleteA bit less of both sins will do the job I gues.its nice that you enter the 2000 again.
ReplyDeleteNot so fast - I make it my August Fide will be 1982
