I won the third prize for those rated 1901-2100, which means I should receive 100 euros, minus Spain's withholding tax, which I understand is not insignificant.
I begin this blog after getting back into league chess following many years' absence due to work. My post-job status also means I am able to play more tournament chess. My new club in London is Battersea and my first game for them is on Thursday September 14, 2017. I start with a Fide rating of 1858, an ECF grade of 169 (=1968 elo) and an ICCF correspondence rating of 2267. My current Fide is 2012, my ECF is 1965 and my ICCF is 2325.

Still a good tournament, only pitty due the blunder in game 9
ReplyDeleteCan happend. What is your next tournament?
Next up is Benidorm, at the Bali. This year it's nine rounds over seven days, so I am taking a half-point bye on each of the double-round days.
DeleteOkay, succes there.I was looking for a tournament before Marienbad but couldn t find one.maybe in februari in Weimar (7 round) and end of march in Rottach-Egern.
DeleteThe problem with Rottach-Egern, from my viewpoint, is that it clashes with Bad Woerishofen, which is another of my favourite tournaments!
DeleteThat,s also the case with Bischofsgrun and Bad Herrenalb
ReplyDeleteYes, really annoying! I played in those two for the first time this year, and hoped to play both next year.
