Still Many Clouds On The Chess Horizon

BRITAIN is not only leading Europe in vaccinating its population, it is also at the forefront of driving down infections.
Many EU countries either have official states of emergency or are discouraging visitors, especially those from the UK, by insisting on up to 14 days of self-isolation as well as demanding a negative covid-test result on arrival.
It is against this background that the CzechTour's promised February announcement of forthcoming events has not materialised.
However the organisation is still advertising Marienbad (Mariánské Lázně) and Prague, starting on April 16 and April 24 respectively: http://www.czechtour.net/news/
Meanwhile chess.org hopes to rearrange Bad Wörishofen in Bavaria for May: http://chessorg.de/bad_woerishofen.php
Back in England the 4NCL has taken the arguably bold step of booking a hotel for a weekend congress in Warwickshire in July: https://www.4ncl.co.uk/
We are talking baby steps, but positive ones.
