BEAU CHESS - the post-work workings-out of a chess amateur

I begin this blog after getting back into league chess following many years' absence due to work. My post-job status also means I am able to play more tournament chess. My new club in London is Battersea and my first game for them is on Thursday September 14, 2017. I start with a Fide rating of 1858, an ECF grade of 169 (=1968 elo) and an ICCF correspondence rating of 2267. My current Fide is 1902, my ECF is 1913 and my ICCF is 2277.

Quarter Off

CHESSBASE'S online shop is offering 25% off all products bought on Tuesday November 17.

Actually the offer has already started, so I ordered this evening the 2021 Mega database (upgrade from 2020) for 55.94 euros, including postage.

Normally I go to Chess & Bridge in Baker Street W1 and buy the Mega upgrade there, even though it costs a bit more that way, but the shop is shut thanks to Nanny Johnson.
