| Work on what would become Świdnica Cathedral began in 1330, replacing a wooden church destroyed by fire. The building was expanded in the early 1400s, and renovated after being badly damaged by fire in 1532. From 1561 to 1629 it was run by Protestants, but later was owned by Jesuits, until they were expelled from what had become Prussian Silesia. The church was converted into a barn in 1772, but became a church again and was again extensively renovated in the 1890s. |
