There are seven rounds over seven days, each starting at 09:30, with a time limit of 40 moves in 90 minutes, 30 minutes to finish, and a 30-second increment throughout.

There 110 entries, including four international masters.

Bregenz is a pretty city of 30,000 residents, situated on Bodensee (better known in English as Lake Constance) and close to the borders of Switzerland and Germany.
