BEAU CHESS - the post-work workings-out of a chess amateur

I begin this blog after getting back into league chess following many years' absence due to work. My post-job status also means I am able to play more tournament chess. My new club in London is Battersea and my first game for them is on Thursday September 14, 2017. I start with a Fide rating of 1858, an ECF grade of 169 (=1968 elo) and an ICCF correspondence rating of 2267. My current Fide is 1902, my ECF is 1913 and my ICCF is 2277.

Challenging Schedule

THERE are now 49 entries in the Challengers, which makes it the largest of the seven sections at the Northumbria congress.

The time control for the Fide-rated tournaments is all moves in 90 minutes, with a 30-second increment throughout.

The playing schedule has minor quirks, which hopefully will not catch out participants.

Thursday - 10:00 & 15:00

Friday - 12:00 & 17:00

Saturday - 10:00 & 15:00

Sunday - 15:00

Monday - 12:00 & 17:00

Players must register their attendance by email by 20:00 this evening.
