THE town of Bischofsgrün lies in the Fichtel mountains, between the high points of Schneeberg (1,051m, home to a Cold War observation post) and Ochsenkopf (1,024 metres, topped by a civilian viewing tower and restaurant).
Bischofsgrün straddles the White Main, which merges with the Red Main to form the Main, the longest tributary of the Rhine.
