I used Google Maps on my mobile to get there along what seemed quite a twisty route, but found I was able to retrace my steps easily enough later without using the app.
The 14th-century clock tower at the old town hall |
The route may theoretically be a little shorter if one cuts through Olšany cemetery, originally built for plague victims in 1680 but later extended to cover about 125 acres.
I was too early to use the 'shortcut' on my way from the hotel - the cemetery opens at 08:00 - but took it on the way back.
Shorter on the map does not necessarily mean quicker as there is so much to see |
Perhaps it is just as well the gates are shut at night |
