Woes Continue

LOST last night for Battersea against a 173 from Hackney in division one of the London League.
The game followed the same pattern as a lot of my recent efforts - I got a sizeable advantage out of the opening but proceeded to miss a series of one-move tactical shots and simple positional themes, losing horribly.
Usually, it is said, short-term tactical errors are a sign of tiredness, and there may be some truth in this, but that does not explain the feeble positional mistakes.
I think part of the problem could be a glass-half-empty approach to chess, ie my feelings after a draw are much closer to my feelings after a loss than after a win.
Instead of trying to win every game at all costs, I should strive more to avoid defeat (while hopefully not turning passive, which is a sure way to lose in the long run even if quick losses become less common).
In any event I feel I need to fundamentally change my approach.
