THIS morning, instead of cutting inland, I turned left out of the Fodele Beach Resort and headed along the coast.

You do not have to go far before coming to a row of beachside tavernas, which were closed when I went by early on but, because it had been recommended to me yesterday, I knew at least one would be open later.

Meanwhile there has been a late entry for the Amateur Chess Organization's postponed 2020 world amateur chess championship, which will be held alongside the senior event from tomorrow morning.
